Establishment onto our university’s campus
Kappa Phi Lambda was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by 7 amazing women:
These charters had a vision to bring a fresh new organization to campus and to empower young women to strive towards academic excellence , promote cultural awareness, provide community service, and establish the bond of everlasting sisterhood.
Through the hard work and dedication as well as support from sisters all over the country, the Uiuc Colony flourished, overcoming many trials, growing stronger. Guided by the values and experiences of the sorority, the charters dedicated themselves to growth of the sorority and its community.
In the span of only 5 years, our Psi Chapter (formerly Uiuc Colony) sisterhood has flourished into becoming one of 55 sisters strong to carry on that vision. It is in the importance we place on our pillars and through various involvements we commit to within our sorority and surrounding community in which we, the sisters of Uiuc Kappa Phi Lambda, are provided with indispensable experiences that further enrich our personal lives and college careers.
Each academic year, we seek to move forward and make our mark as one of the fastest growing Asian-interest sororities on campus.
